Here's a few closeups from this weeks lot-o load. Hopefully you all are not getting too spoiled. Not sure how much longer I can keep up with weekly loads of this quality. Might be tumbling landscape stones soon, lol. Mostly Bots and Montana with a few strays at the end. Took a full set of pictures with my normal camera and they were all bad. You hit a soft spot, Chuck. Those are my two favorites to tumble, so I love this batch. Really cool rock in #3, with the quartz vein running through it. Keep up the show as long as you can, they're always fun to look at.

Bots are usually my favorite, but those Montanas are fantabulous.

Before seeing this, I would have said that I prefer Bots to Montanas. Now I’m not sure. Those first two Montanas really look good to me, but I can’t describe why. I love that root beer color, I guess. Great batch!

Thanks Garage Rocker - That quartz vein with black outline goes all the way around the stone. I am glad when it was all done that I was able to keep enough agate on either side. It is in the bottom row of this picture. Chuck

The Bots are great, but those are some really nice Montanas.

It's always a pleasure to see your eye candy. I think I love the Montanas more than the Bots this time, but it's really close!

Nice going with both. I always seem to get Montana rough with fractures, so I've yet to get overly excited about them. The Bots always do it for me.

It is in the bottom row of this picture. Chuck Surprised that the quartz did not undercut a bit being softer than the agate, unless the quartz has been impregnated with the agate material.

At least they tend to break along any fractures that way. I am pretty ruthless about busting up rough. Hardly ever use a chisel and never even give thought about where to hit them. My only objective is end size. I usually have a bucket with at least 50 pounds when I do it and I dont enjoy it so its all about speed. If I were only busting up a few pounds I suppose I would be more precise. Chuck
