It has been a long time since I have done any real cabbing. The weather looked good this weekend so I thought maybe if I brought some equipment up from the basement it would help me get outside and get some done. I brought up the combo unit, genie and groove grinder and that was enough to get me going. I do not like the idea of cluttering the garage with rock stuff but I really enjoy seeing sunshine while working. Thulite Rainforest Jasper Australian Dendritic opal Chipboard Rhyolite Need I.D. ? pretty soft and guessing a rhyolite of some sort. Crinoid Marble Crinoid Marble Crinoid Marble Temporary setup Chuck

Wooow, I got totally enchanted by the looks of the Crinoid Marble! Great job! And you've got a lovely working place.

Missed your posts! Nice job on all of them! I love that Thulite- Norwegian?
I wish I could cab outside, but the picnic table kills my back.

Really drawn to that sparkle in the Rainforest piece. My first thought on the mystery round was ricolite serpentine, the pinkish-gray band is unusual in ricolite, but not unheard-of.

If you sit it would seem like you could put the genie at the end of a picnic table and pull up a chair. I may try to get a bunch done real quick then move it all back to the lapidary shop. I just built all those cabinets last summer and lapidary work is too wet and messy to be done there. I was constantly wiping water and rock snot off. Chuck

Nice group of stones. The Thulite is killer and I love the Rain Forest which I normally am not attracted to at all. That one is awesome, tho!

Love your groove wraps, such a clean look that lets the stone be the star of the show.

But, that's a good idea! I hadn't thought of that. The picnic table is under the tree. I may give that a try.

The RJ is excellent. Love the crinoid cabs, too.

I think it I'm going with the Rainforest Jasper this time. It's a really unique looking piece. The crinoid pieces are interesting too, though. What really amazes me, as a strictly tumble guy, is that you can go from rough to finished jewelry in a day...times eight! I mean, you know all too well also, but that would literally take months with my equipment. Hardly seems right.
