Just realized I forgot to share this one, I've been kinda busy with the tee pees. This fairburn has some potential, besides just the obvious patterns on the end. I'm trying to decide if I want to leave as is, try and tumble it for a bit (it's pretty large but might tumble in the 6lb barrels), or take a dremel to it and try to expose some more patterns. Any suggestions? Thanks for looking.

If it was me- I'd cut it. Like I said, I'm thinking about it... I'm wondering if there's anything inside- but then I have to figure out where to cut!

It is kinda ugly. Bet you can fix that. Hopefully. It has some fantastic bands, but I really do think it's the ugly duckling of fairburns.

Another vote for cut it. We just did some Bahia Agates last night that were pretty gnarly on the outside. Some were such that I couldn't really tell the orientation of the inside so I would just take a nibble cut to get an idea. Some turned out to be duds, but others were spectacular. Silly me got so excited that I threw them in the tumbler right away, didn't realize until this morning we didn't take a single pic. Oh well, we'll see them again in a week at cleanout.

Al Those Bahias are sometimes very ugly, but they often make some of the most interesting tumbles. May be the same with the Fairburn. This, however, is a large one to tumble. I may have to cut it too.

Wait! Don't cut it...
...until you have the camera ready to take pics so we can see what's inside!
