My first attempt at getting a little more intricate, and trying to follow Doc's directions somewhat. It's sure not easy. I think it turned out pretty good, but it was hard trying to figure out what to do with the last three wires. They ended up as the little curls on top. ;D Here's what I did with the back to keep the curls in-line and so they wouldn't catch on anything. This is 22 ga. Colorcraft wire. Thanks for looking, Cher

see? now usually I don't like wraps. But that's great. Doesn't obscure the stone, and is really very well done. Great job! Is that round wire? it looks like it might have a flat side... but I'm old and the eyes are going.

Thanks Herm, the wire is round, I think the light is just making it look flat in some areas.

that is really GOOD, Cher! i agree with Herm, i'm not usually ga-ga over twirly-curly wraps, but you got that one just right, not over done, still features the stone. excellent job! you've really got good in a short time!
i try and try and try and still end up with a crumpled ball of wire, bleeding fingertips and high blood pressure.

Thanks KD! I don't really care for all the big loops and twirls either, that's why I haven't done any before. Just had to try something similar to see if I could do it. Now I have to go see if I have any beads that will match the stone. Thanks for the compliments.

cher it's just beautiful. i definitely think it is time to retire the craft wire and move to s/s and gold or gold-filled wire.

Rosebud..... Great job! I do not know what else to say. Great job. I am impressed, and glad. You are ready for gold and sterling now. I would also make the bail a little larger so it will fit larger necklaces. Well done. Congrats!!!!!

Kim, Doc, Sands, Thank you very much for your compliments, definitely gives me encouragement to try more.
Doc, how big do you mean for the bail? This one is probably about 3mm across, it will easily fit a chain or heavy cord. Speaking of which, I'm trying to do a beaded necklace for it but the bail is actually too large to fit well on the beading string, it hangs funny next to the beads. Maybe this one would look better on the leather cord.
Thanks again ... Doc, I was hoping you'd look. I would have never had the confidence to try this if it hadn't been for your tutorial with Banjo and the pics he took.

Cher, what a great job! Very creative and understated. I'm thinking , because it has the curls on it, maybe a ribbon or silk cord would be nice.

I know I'm late in chiming in here Cher, but that is really great. It's not overdone, it's balanced, it has natural swirls, I think it's great. Keep that up ! You'll be surprised at how different silver and gold is to craft wire. It will be a pleasant surprise. Terriffic!!

Thats really lovely Cher ! Well done
I'm still persevering (saying lots of baaaad words ;D) with the wrapping, I did some more over the weekend that came out better. I cant seem to get the hang of the bails on top though, they are coming out very hit and miss.

Wow, great job. I love how the stone still stands out even with the intricate wrappings. Everytime I've attempted wrapping the wire distracts from the rock.
