OOPS, I messed up and the comments didn't post. I diligently follow the line that I mark from the template. When I grind I never go into the line only just to it. If you grind into or beyond the line you don't know how far you have gone so any corrections are very difficult. This one is Willow Creek Jasper and it is 3" across.

I agree, Bobby, that is an amazing looking cab!
Someone linked a rock core drilling set which Kingsley North sells. It has about a dozen sizes or so. If I pursue more round cabs (bracelets, watch bands, etc), then I will buy the kit.
I tried mounting the dop stick to the power drill the other day, and discovered that I could not maneuver the power drill in to the cabbing machine properly to make the cuts, due to other wheels getting in the way.
From all of the helpful posts above, I am now in the camp with those who use a tool to make perfect outside diameter cuts, and then do not touch them again, until the end. It's too easy to mess up a perfect circle in my experience.
Thank you to all that have helped me with this one.

I mount my cabs like this one on a larger dop stick than usual but it still is done only by hand. Bob
