I hope to venture into cabs, and your example is going to be a hard act to follow. They are precious ...I am blown away by your talents KD Thanks Jack

one note of information...
I have seen an old hand at cabmaking who uses old engine valves for dopsticks. they come very cheap , need a car repairshop handy.

Electric dop pot! We're getting pretty high tech there KD. I'm still using my old coffee cup warmer!

KD, great job! I also think your teacher is just jealous! Probably gives him an inferior complex because a relative beginner can do such beautiful work! So, just keep doin' those KrazyCabs and don't worry about what that old fart says - or young fart, whatever the case may be! The regular cabs are nice and yours are wonderful, but the Krazycabs and Cabojohns are so much more interesting and creative. I finally broke down and got some dop wax. I use a glue melting pot, dowel rods for the sticks and a high tech way to heat the stones. I put a piece of metal flashing across the top of a saucepan of boiling water! One of those nifty little dop pots like you have would be nice, but I'm too cheap to buy one! I do like the flashing method because I can make up a bunch of rocks at once. Now, if I could just get the hang of the grinding! I have been practicing using the dop since the wax came yesterday. I think I do better with the dops, so maybe I will finally do something that I won't be embarrassed to offer up for a Name that Cabollana! Got one I am working on now and am pretty pleased with thus far, so hopefully, I won't screw it up! llana
