Turns out aDave 's wife likes my jewelry. She had a set of bumble bee jasper cabs from a gem show that she wanted set. Dave sent them to me and I had to report to him that the earrings cabs were not polished, but coated. The cuts were really off, too. I went ahead and hand sanded them into something a little closer and proceeded to wrap the set. The earring stones were square, which sometimes causes problems with being off balance so I hung them from chains to make them a little longer, too.
I thought they came out nice. The pendant stone is really big. I knew I didn't want to add chains to it, so I did it very simply since it was big enough already, but I echoed the sides of the earrings in the pendant stone. I like the look.
These are really nice stones, but being native cut, probably in India, posed a few issues. However, as I always say- all's well that ends well. His wife is happy and that makes me happy.
Thanks for looking!

My wife bought those cabs in Q last year. She knew she liked the look of bumble bee, so she focused on getting cabs that had patterns that tended to be similar. With that focus, however, she hadn't realized the thickness difference of the small stones. All she knew is that she eventually wanted to send them to Tela rockjunquie , as the wife has other items of hers that she really likes. Despite being very cheap, we're really happy with what Tela did to dress them up, and we can't wait for them to arrive. Thanks Tela!

Tela, when you consider how "off" these BB cabs were to start with, you really did a superb job with them. I'm sure Mrs. aDave is just over the moon happy with them. I wouldn't have had the patience, I don't think, would have been frustrated, no doubt. You have the touch, and your muse is hitting on all cylinders. Beauteus! Edit to add - It wasn't at just any rock show, it was at Q, lol.

A great rework. Can see why aDAve's wife was attracted to the cabs.

You did a stellar job on evening out those earring stones, Tela! The whole set looks awesome. I have made myself a rule about bumble bee- no cabbing. But, I have plenty of hand papers and water. Luckily, its pretty soft. And a lot of the issues were down to the uneven application of the coating on the back. They looked like they were just dipped and laid out to dry.

I'm sure aDave's wife unit will be thrilled, those are beautiful pieces. To us Easterners, 'Q' is just another letter.
