i decided to change out my barrels today after 10 days in CPP polish. it's a mix of do-overs and odds and ends, some came out pretty well, there is some adventurine, some mook, some mexlace, rose quartz, clear quartz, pigeon blood agate, you name it, it's probably in there! even some moss agate and sunset jasper! some close ups so then in the afternoon i got on the grinder: that red dot is from the camera and you can see the relection of the lens, i need to take photo lessons from Bearcreek! this is a little big for jewelry, but could make a bola tie, it's so clear that i think i'll make it just a suncatcher. so my instructor for this silversmithing class said that my irregular shaped Krazycabs wouldn't be easy for a beginner (me) to set in a bezel, so i made some oval ones and brought them in, instructor said too big for a beginner...grr, i refuse to BUY a cab from them so: that's a little tiny piece of porcelain jasper (courtesy of Sandsman) and a little round of mex lace. can't wait to hear the reason i can't use these! thanks for looking! KD

That is some VERY cool looking stuff there KD, cabs as well as polished. That moss agate is really nice cut that thin, and even the little round buttons are cool. That's just great, but I can't think of any expletives of praise to add, other than those 'Rock'!

i decided to change out my barrels today after 10 days in CPP polish. it's a mix of do-overs and odds and ends, some came out pretty well Oh Please. Pretty well? are you kidding me? Those are fabulous! Did you cheat and pour oil on them before taking the pics? The fourth photo, the deep red mex lace. Yummers indeed! I think you should set it a home made bezal on say "See there, thee of little faith". I have some porcalain jasper running in coarse now, have vowed not to open the bbl for 4 full weeks. In week 3 now Its all incredible, you just get better and better. So tell me again, where can I get CPP polish? cookie

Cookie, I believe KD is referring to "Common People's Polish" when she says CPP. Just the regular cheap stuff.
I think it's Tripoli for prepolish and just regular polish for the finish.
KD, Correct me if I'm wrong. Alice

Alpha Supply is where i got the CPP, i have no idea what it is, but probably Aluminium Ox of some grade. and it's cheap compared to TIn or Titanium Ox.
Tweet, that rainbow number is Mex Lace, a particularly nice piece, if i may say so myself.
oh, and i didn't cut that moss agate, that was some of my first "storebought" rock that i whacked to smithereens and have just got round to doing over. i got a few big hunks tumbling still, then i'm going to saw it and tumble that stuff again!!
(never say die!)
