I have had a batch in 60/90 in Big Red for a month now. Thankfuly, in some aspects, I just couldn't get around to checking on it. I finally looked tonight. As wonderful as they look, I know I'm vibe spoiled and should probably let them run a little longer, but, man, I am pleased! Part of the batch (Photo buucket keeps making my picks too small, so this is all I could salvage) Some of my personal favs: Agate that Sands can identify ;D and some buttery mook. These are going to be awesome And some Flint ridge flint that has great color and design Of course, these are wet. OK, Here's what I need from you, my friends. I'm DYING to go to 120/200 with these but I know in my heart another week in 60/90 is probably best. Help Me Be Strong! I Should wait. I Must Wait! ;D Thanks for your support cookie

Wow, looking good Cookster. You know, as long as you have them all out, why not go over them? Make a pile that's ready for the next stage, put them aside then add new rough to the barrel. Keep going until you have enough for the second stage, that way you always have some rough getting started while you build for the next stages. Love that buttery mook ... never heard of it but love the colors!!

Cook-
Right on, those look great. I'm finding I'm a sucker for the reds. Just love that little dude sitting at about 8 o'clock on pict #2.
KD had some cool reds too that had me drooling. I think reds are hitting my spot.
Only you know if another week will do the trick. Keep us posted and I want to see that little red front and center for the next go 'round of picts.

Those are going to be great Cookie ! The yellow in the second pic is lovely. I'm still struggling with the patience thing too, I've had some pieces of Blue Lace in coarse for over a month and it looks great, but is still not ready to move on. I'm wondering if they will ever be ready.

I forget what your setup is. Will you run stage two in your "big red" or something smaller? Pick the ready ones and add some others.

Put that load back in 60/90 for another week...lock up the house and go rockhounding for a week while that load works.....then come home with a fresh batch all ready for 60/90...since you will be moving this load up to 120/200 you will have room for a new 60/90 batch..simple eh?

Just out of interest - how much quicker is a vibe in shaping the rocks ?

I don't know about the rest, I think they look great. I love the shape of the individual ones you picked out. The way some of them are shaped they could easily be wrapped into some beautiful jewelry. Tami

OK, I recharged, put them back in Big red with pellets and fill, and locked the bedroom door! These are going to be nice. There is too much rock for any thing smaller, so 120/200 will probabley go back into Big Red. Lil' Ed has a double batch in it now, so 600 is going to the vibe. Then Tripoli, then polish... Hoopty Doo, I love this hobby! Tami, I wish I could wire wrap, I'm just so rotten at it! I want to, though cookie PS Rose, The vibe takes about a week in coarse to get the right smoothness, but doesn't shape as well. Inpre polish/polish it just zooms. 1 week at most, 3 days at best. Love my vibe!

Don't do it. They are too nice to settle at that point. Put them back in 60/90 for one more month and recharge the grit every week. I know, I know... It's hard. But just do it and you'll be very happy that you did, when it's all said and done.

I gott agree Cookster. Let then run at least another week or maybe even two, in 60/90. The wait will be worth it. That is an great lookin' batch of rocks as they are, but another week or so in 60/90 then on to the other stages will blow your mind when they come out of polish. It's hard, but you'll be glad you did. Can;t wait to see 'em finished!

Let em run, Cookie. That's my vote. They're lookin' good, but another couple of weeks in 60/90 and they'll be great!
You can do this! Patience is a virtue.........and all of those other sayings you don't want to hear!

You have more patience than I have...I cannot run any more than two weeks in a stage without moving forwards...of course I get some do overs too
Love those yellow and gold(jasper?)

Cookie - I've been here. I just don't 'talk' much. I do have a question for you. I read it before but it didn't sink in that you said you put pellets in your batch and recharged it. Why are you running pellets in coarse? Seems to me that those will just slow down the intended effect of the 60/90. Were you running pellets in it before you recharged the last time?
