This is a "group" pic of the stuff I gathered over the two days. Can we say buckets of goodies! Probably a few pieces of levertite but won't know for sure until it's all washed up. Lots of nice looking "idon'tknowite". This one is really green. Might have to save it for awhile to see if I can get it slabbed. And for you Disney fans, I have found Mickey Mouse! ;D Found quite a few really nice lakers too. My daughter wants to make a table top with the small ones so we take all we can find. Some kind of quartzy type, another I don't want to whack. Wish the color would have been better on this one but it's very orange one the one side. The other side looks like yellow jasper. It's very fine grained. (side view) Here's the bottom, this is only the 2nd piece I've found in this color. Here's another "Idon'tknowite" but had to take it cause it's just cool. The rock almost feels like porcelain. It's very creamy in color but has a green cast to it in the cracks and on the ends. Got lots more but haven't washed and gone through it all yet. Just wanted to share some of the stuff I found. Wish I had the knowledge to identify it all. Thanks for looking!! Cher

Can anyone here ID them? That Mickey stone, what is that? I just went into pre polish with a batch that includes some lakers you sent me. WOW Cher, You have definitely found a very nice collection of rocks there ... and I love the lakers I had so much fun with my wife when we were in New Mexico. She would ask me what a particular stone was and I would say ... "leverite". You could just see her swell with pride and confidence and I would ask her where she found it, then she would take to the exact spot and I would toss it back down on the ground ... she looked at me like I had lost my mind and said ..."what are you doing ... that is leverite ... you said so yourself" ... then I would just smile and tell her ..."what do you think leverite means ... Leave er right there" ;D Needless to say I received a couple of bruised ribs for that statement ... or maybe it was the way I delivered the punch line! I am sorry to say that I was right in line with her punch line ;D Ya gotta love it John

Cher-
I just love your posts and am always anxious to see if you've got some of those lakers hiding in the mix.
I spotted that cool little dude at the 9 1/2 inch mark. I'll bet that'll be a good one.

Wow, you sure found a fun mix. All the cool rough rock pictures makes me want to skip out on my work and go rock picking. Maybe after I get a few more projects done, I'll reward myself.

Thanks for looking everyone! My hubby thinks it's pretty funny that I can put up pics of rocks and people actually look at them. Cher- I just love your posts and am always anxious to see if you've got some of those lakers hiding in the mix. I spotted that cool little dude at the 9 1/2 inch mark. I'll bet that'll be a good one. Gaetz Gaetz, everything in that pic is Lakers but there's not a lot of "banding" to see unless it's up close and personal. That huge one right above the one you spotted, I found walking down a gravel road. It was buried in the sand and all was showing was a bit of the yellow about the size of a nickel. Almost flipped when I pulled it out as it does have really nice banding if you can see the side of it. Guess I should have scanned the agates, shows more detail than the camera does. Can't wait to go back to that place again on a sunny day. I wish I could id them Cookie. I have no idea what the mickey stone is but I see a lot of that stuff. It's on the softer side and doesn't polish well. Cher

Looks like you're all set for a couple of years Rosebud! Some great finds in those pictures! I especially like Mickey Cookie, there's many rocks just as nice, here in Quebec. Even up where you are!

The quartzy one you don't wanna whack (5th picture) looks like a faded porcelain jasper - I doubt it is, but that's just a wild winded guess..
Wonderfull catch -
