During the recent Valley Fire near Alpine, I had mentioned that I thought all the smoke in the air was affecting the wildlife, they didn't know what time it was. This is the coyote we saw about a block from our home in broad daylight, around 3pm. Not something you see everyday. It had been within five feet of the road but backed off some while we sat in the car to get a pic. While speaking of furry subjects, this is a kit fox we saw while in the desert prospecting a year or two ago. And sitting down, just chillin'. This is the same kit fox that is in my current avatar - without the Ritz cracker in her mouth, lol.

Corn pit at the pumpkin patch. That's very interesting. Sort of like playing in a grain silo without tons more of corn weighing down on you, suffocating you. Just make sure the kids aren't wearing their Sunday underwear and pants (ie., holy!). Don't want any corn going where it shouldn't, lol. Oh, wait, but today is Sunday. Hmm, just shake them up good after getting home. And dump their pockets . That looks as fun as the colored balls in a pit at Mickey D's.

Jean, sounds like you have experience with kiddos! Uh, no. Don't have any of those, or a flock of neices and nephews. My only experience is with fur children But I have observed those critters some!

Your corn pit reminds me of the Mason County Fair in Shelton, Washington years ago. My husband entered the catch a greased pig contest This was held in a mud pit. It was loads of fun. He almost had the pig when a teenage boy fell cross wise in front of him. Love county fairs in small towns. Lol

My wife beamed at me with pride and said, “Wow! I never thought our son would go that far!“
I said, “This trebuchet is amazing! Go get our daughter.”

Stopped by the local greenhouse/market yesterday. Tons of pumpkins. Worty pumpkins and mums. Gourds White pumpkins. A few of these were my main reason for stopping. When I finish decorating them will post. More gourds. This is a new variety at the market. Customer access area. The market is loaded with locally made jams, jellies, syrups, sauces, soaps, lotions, etc. A wide variety of produce grown at the farm. Lots of fruits. Some decor. Many plants are available for Fall planting.

Another purchase from my neighbor's sale. The price was very little. It was recently delivered. I did not have a real grille. Was using a campfire and a metal grate. Looking forward to using this one. A little clean up of grates and good to go. Neighbor will be bringing over the manual once he finds it.

No luck so far catching any fish. Now I know why they call it fishing instead of catching.

No luck so far catching any fish. Now I know why they call it fishing instead of catching. You need to get out there and do some noodling. If you see a🐊 just tickle em
