Early AM backyard view from yesterday. The sky and snow were red/pink, but my phone adjusted the color. There is finally snow here. Another 4-6 inches predicted for tonight. We had snow last night, but only an inch or so where I'm at. I had heard east of us was supposed to get a pretty good system...and now I've read it too! LOL Stay safe and try to stay warm!

Lucky find at a local Goodwill store here this morning. After senior discount I paid $3.00 for this 1940's Fenton pitcher/vase. This will not be broken up and tumbled. jamesp

That is sublime. Wow! A beauty AND a bargain.

Winston says, "Chillax, and have a peaceful New Year." DSC_2183_Have A Peaceful New Year by Stephan T., on Flickr Oh, and @2020: Don't let the door hit you on the way out. (Picture from the weekend, but it seems appropriate for today)

Thank You Some "Pacific Plume" that I found on Christmas Day Wow! Would you care to share where you found that? It’s gorgeous. Never found anything like that on any beach I’ve hounded. How big is it? Pebble or boulder?

RickB - That vase is stunning! My wife likes older glass like that. I showed her the picture and told her you were going to smash it and tumble it...I can't type the words I heard! LOL (I finally told her I was kidding...) stephan - great question about the "pacific plume"...I was picturing grapefruit or softball size, so I'm curious to know too. And I think Winston has the right idea!!!

jasoninsd Winston could get the gold medal in sleeping I'm not sure who'd get the gold or the silver...Winston or Trigger! I'm lucky to get an "action" photo of this guy! LOL

Luckily cat sleeping and dog sleeping are similar, but different sports. They can both sleep their way to gold. Trigger looks quite comfortable.
Not sure you can tell from this picture, but his spine is at a 90 degree angle — backwards. Only a cat could be comfortable like that.

Sunday I went hounding at the local river. Pretty cold out there. The bank about 2 ft from the water was thawed, but further up the rocks were frozen to the ground and covered in 1/8 inch of ice. That part of the river stays in the shade of the hill, and while it doesn't often get super cold here in SW WA, it definitely was cold enough to keep that area frozen all day after the latest frost. Bunch of rain the past week or so, moving the rocks a bit, so I wanted to see if anything had been kicked up worth taking home. Sure enough - some jasper, pet wood, agates, and these zeolite things. I realized that over the course of this crazy year that my big 12 lb tumblers have been shut down since mid July. tsk tsk. I had ran my sister's 45C over the summer but had some material I wanted to finish for them that I hadn't gotten to. Wellll... I got into the storage unit and dug them out and set myself up in the garage here. I spent probably 7 hours this afternoon/evening getting them all just so, sorting and selecting what I wanted to tumble, and weighing and taking pics of the big ones. As it stands, both barrels of the 33B are in stage 2 of the material I was finishing, 45C is rough grinding some more of the same stuff, one 12 lb barrel is running mostly jasper and agate, and the other 12 lb is rolling mostly petrified wood and some chalcedony/jasper I picked up in Utah. I'm going to start threads for the big stones in the 12 lb barrels, like I do, should be fun.

Looks like you picked up some nice rocks! No rocks where I live, so color me impressed. What is the stripey one in the middle?
