Dealing with this right now. A little more ice tonight, on top of this we've had hanging around for three days. Then, the foot of snow tomorrow. Some of my trees just aren't going to survive. I know there are plenty of people out there feeling it. Stay safe in this severe weather.

Fair bit of hydric acid buildup. Seems to be happening in a lot of places recently. Must be something in the air.

Ouch! Pretty, but it makes me cold just looking at it.
I hope you don't lose any entire trees, or have damage from falling ice-laden branches.

Each morning when I get up early, the little hound follows me into the den and curls up by the window to get a couple more hours of beauty rest.

Night shots.
Freezing rain, then snow, then sleet (a lot of sleet), then freezing rain, then snow. Pretty crunchy.

Love those beach pics, amygdule. We went to Sanibel Island this past Summer and found a ton of nice shells. Apparently, the island is known as one of the best shell collecting areas in the US. I would be over the moon if I could combine rockhounding AND the occasional sweet sea shell.

Wish there was more to photograph, but the weather is pretty much dictating the available subject matter. There's beauty in it, especially since we still have power. If that goes, this will be the ugliest stuff I've ever seen.
High was 17 today. 28 tomorrow and another round of snow/sleet/ice mix on Thursday. Let's see what those ornamental trees are really capable of.

When I was a kid living in Southern California, we used to vacation down in Baja to collect sea shells. That was a lot of fun. The shells in the picture are fossils that are 15-20 million years old. There was a greater variety of mollusks back then than there is now. Nice. I've been to the beach exactly twice in my life. Yeah, I'm a bit jealous!

It's amazing what a person will do when they don't want someone else to think they're a "wuss"! LOL No pressure...

Ok, jasoninsd , go ahead and call me a wuss. My tumblers are inside now and I checked the qt66 and had a couple stones that were ready to move on. Right or wrong, I keep stuff for the vibe in a container until I have a full load. The container happened to be in the garage and this is what it looked like. Yeah, no work in the garage last night!

I actually never called you a wuss... I lasted all of about 25 minutes (if that) yesterday! LOL - Just enough time to cut out four silver ore preforms, two silver lace onyx (no relation to the ore), and about seven Picasso Marble preforms - then called it quits because I couldn't feel my fingers anymore. LOL I thought about attempting it again today, but think I'll find other things to do until tomorrow when it supposed to get to at least 30 degrees. I had several 5 gallon buckets out in the garage with water in them and they looked just like yours! LOL I'm sure Spring is right around the corner for us...I just don't know where exactly that corner is just yet.

Vince noticed this guy in our yard just a little while ago. Have never seen one here before. Wonder where it came from.
