Get back to the zoo jo jo On a morning stroll Meet Scooter Sonoran burrowing tortoise ![https://res.cloudinary.com/rock-n-hearts-inc/image/upload/v1677459335/Zoo/zootorisescootemaganeseback022623.jpg](https://res.cloudinary.com/rock-n-hearts-inc/image/upload/v1677459335/Zoo/zootorisescootemaganeseback022623.jpg) They spend most of there time burrowing and living underground. I was telling the keeper that carapace camouflage is appropriate dor the arid desert. As it reminds me of all the oxide manganese I hound Not sure he knew what I was referring to? I’ll have to bring a sample... ![https://res.cloudinary.com/rock-n-hearts-inc/image/upload/c_scale,w_477/v1633966310/Overload/southmoiuntainoxidized.jpg](https://res.cloudinary.com/rock-n-hearts-inc/image/upload/c_scale,w_477/v1633966310/Overload/southmoiuntainoxidized.jpg) Even Sumatra tiger gets back ! ![https://res.cloudinary.com/rock-n-hearts-inc/image/upload/v1677459365/Zoo/zootigerback02262023.jpg](https://res.cloudinary.com/rock-n-hearts-inc/image/upload/v1677459365/Zoo/zootigerback02262023.jpg)

Woke up to this beautiful transformation yesterday. Keep in mind were only at 1750' elevation and it is very rare for CA to get snow this low that sticks around. Unfortunately we lost power for most of the day which knocked out our wifi and rendered our phones useless. More snow down to 2000' is expected tonight - another winter storm warning thru Wed. Wow! That's a nice little bit of snow! Sorry y'all lost power. You did get some great pics...and I bet pup-pup was thinkin' "What the heck??"

Some days, I think I could wish I was a borrowing desert tortoise. Thanks for the show mohs. Patty

A sign of Spring at our house - a pitcher plant flower (Sarracenia Flava). These tall flower stalks come up in the spring before the pitchers.
Our first flower - more to come I hope.

Discovered today that the top of a pine tree broke off yesterday. Once the snow melts I will grab my chain saw and deal with it. There is a nice apple tree next to the pine tree. Added a few other photos of ice on a different apple tree. ![](https://res.cloudinary.com/fernwood/image/upload/v1677597328/sga6jwdmrtbxbctkfhgz.jpg) ![](https://res.cloudinary.com/fernwood/image/upload/v1677597328/zdljg8tppjxjgen1mone.jpg) ![](https://res.cloudinary.com/fernwood/image/upload/v1677597325/cikfnypajavsbacvr4ex.jpg) ![](https://res.cloudinary.com/fernwood/image/upload/v1677597327/yonzaqizppkivjic1vuw.jpg) ![](https://res.cloudinary.com/fernwood/image/upload/v1677597326/spba5qmlinpmsaqchol2.jpg)

Tommy Did your snow melt yet? I know how tough it is to get that much snow in areas not used to it.

![](https://res.cloudinary.com/dngs9wsgg/image/upload/v1677608076/uc8ondq6kudxpwtmdxis.jpg) This guy doesn't mind the snow. Been snowing since 7 this morning, but it is above freezing. Drove up and down our steep drive way a bit ago and not a problem. 4x4 of course! We are At 400 feet elevation here west of Portland. Hope itis the last of it for the year!

I remember where I was the first time I heard it. I was in a boathouse at the end of a pier on the St. John's River in Jax. I was laying on my back on a stack of pillows under the influence. It was a pseudo religious experience.

I was introduced to Pink Floyd in about 1970. We had a 1940 78 record player with a radio that could get Shortwave stations. It looked exactly like this one. I would spend hours listening to shortwave radio. I would hear a band from England or another country on that years before they were known in the USA. ![](https://res.cloudinary.com/fernwood/image/upload/v1677679487/tnd6c4qt6o6iyl8rzsuy.jpg) Unfortunately, I was unable to bring the record player/radio with me when I moved.

My dad had a shortwave radio that he took on Navy cruises with him. I remember when he was sitting off the coast of England. He sent me lots of music that had not hit our airwaves, yet. I used to carry a small cassette recorder (an early one) around and "report" the neighborhood news for him and he would do the same for me. It was pretty cool. Beat writing all those letters by hand. ![:)](//storage.proboards.com/forum/images/smiley/smiley.png)

Pink Floyd's Dark Side of The Moon in sinc with the video from the Wizard of Oz. There are many different and partial versions of it on YouTube. The version I have is the complete movie with the DSOTM album played twice. Real trippy.
