What's for dinner RWA3006 ? on my way ! Ribs, corn on cob, taters & onions, a pile of other stuff and finally the diet killer is the cherry/chocolate cobbler. Wish you were close by, we'd feast and have a good time. I'd have to behave or else. Them eyes mean business !

Back in 1977 my sister had a pet rat and so we nicknamed my sister "Queen Willard." Drove her crazy. "Queen Willard" is hilarious. Actually I hate rats. I've trapped 3 of them recently. It was kind of entertaining to watch this rat making several trips back and forth, stealing cat food in broad daylight. Once upon a time when I was a kid, I had to go down to the basement and find a tool. Armed with a flashlight, I started rummaging around through boxes. I stuck my hand into a box and a huge rat ran up my arm and over my shoulder. Oh Schist ! You should have heard me sqeal. Lucky you Dule, it just crawled over you and got away. When we lived in France in the late 50's we had a gravel driveway and lots of river rats running around killing our penned pidgeons and chickens. One day I nailed a large rat with a rock as he was running across the driveway. Picked the stunned rat up by the tail and he curled up and latched onto one of my fingers with his teeth. I flung him off and got my dad who took me to the medics at the Army hospital to get shots. Still have two scars on one of my right hand fingers.

my youngest is happy with the BB gun that was given to him by my coworker. It’s a genuine Red Ryder from the 70s.

knave I remember when I got my first BB rifle when I was in the 2nd grade, a Red Ryder Daisy... I was just as happy a boy as yours appears to be.

Got my first shotgun (16ga) when I was five years old. Dad cut down the stock so I could put it against my shoulder.

knave My BB rifle was confiscated for a period of time by my mother a few months after I got it... after she received some reports from one of my younger brothers of me hunting them. I guess at that young age I got bored with static targets and felt I needed to practice on moving targets... I'm sure your boy will not be as big of heathen as I was... before my twig was bent by mother.

When we were stupid kids, several of us thought it would be fun to have a bb gun fight out in the woods. My friend got hit in the face and the bb penetrated his skin. Fortunately we were able to pop the bb out from under the skin. Another time several decades later I was visiting with a friend. He had a foster granddaughter about 13-14 living with him. She and her friend were in the house alone playing with a bb gun. As I walked past her, she pumped the rifle once and pointed it at my face and pulled the trigger. I pounced on her and took the gun away from her, then I went back outside and destroyed it.

Found in the catacombs another bottle of 2015 vintage Muscadine Wine... what to do with it...? I'm guessing I'd better taste it to see if it's any good.

People are still ordering fire pits in 95F weather. These going to ME, MD, NJ, NC, TX and WA. Fortunately not Bellevue Washington, we get more complaints from Bellevue WA than the entire country. A fussy bunch, guessing they are with lots of money, insight appreciated.

jamesp You make some fine looking heavy-duty firepits. I should come down and buy one of those sometime.
