The weird one. Arc En Ciel water lily, a variegated mutant. Very aggressive grower, probably hybridized in 19th century by famous hybridizer Frenchman Latour Marliac(yes in 1899). Rare. Apparently the deer don't like their flavor because they ate the yellow, orange, red, pink, white bloom water lilies surrounding them. AI gene ? Ask Latour, no one understood his hybridization tricks. . iwgs.org/iwgs-certified-collection/latour-marliac/

Hold on to hat Rick. Hope you escape danger/damage. Got 3 cousins at Fernandina Beach, looks as if turn is heading at them. Strange, in recent years the worst storms to hit the Fl. east coast come from the gulf side.

Strange, in recent years the worst storms to hit the Fl. east coast come from the gulf side. Should be a major rain event for us here in Columbia. Hope it moves out fast as we are going back to the SC coast this coming Sunday for 10 days then to Savannah GA for a few more.

Rick, it's forecast to be a slow mover and maybe not moving out until maybe Friday. They showing 12 to 20 inches of rain all along the South Carolina coast.

GA, SC and NC all have major potential flood warnings up.

You Houston area folks know about these storms sitting stagnant and dumping heavy rain. Atlanta has experienced these stagnant hurricane remnants, or the storm switching back and forth over the same territory dumping their monsoons. I guess it is South Carolina's turn.

We're supposed to go camping at Buck Hall near Bull's Bay and McClellanville SC this coming Sunday. The campground has been shut down thanks to Little Debby. Hopefully it clears up in a few days and the campground is reopened. Needs to ketch more krabs.

Hopefully it clears up in a few days and the campground is reopened. Needs to ketch more krabs. The rules on crab traps at St John River and Lake George was like 3-4 feet max depth. The wind would push the lake up 1 to 1.5 feet quickly(a strong north wind would do a foot in 10 minutes), had to adjust trap depth a lot. Cool thing about Lake George is the big breeders(shrimp too) came 100+ miles up the St Johns to L George. 23-25 inch blues(pincher to pincher tip spread) were not unusual. Lot of them hung out at Salt and Silver Glenn Springs 72F outflows(millions of gallons per day) into the lake where the spring water had higher salt content. Basically they lived in drinking quality water and were clean. They usually molt about November going up in the clear spring runs, best time to get molts and using a net from boat.

Nothing like a hot day with a cool creek sitting with your feet in the water, in the shade.

Beautiful scenery. If I did that I would be tempting the gators.

I think I'll stick with the creek amygdule ! No green algae, just cool spring fed water & some little pretty shiners we actually caught for our aquarium.
