So this happened Weds morning on the way to work. 60mph truck meets big ass buck. No winners here. Truck gets dropped off at the repair shop Monday and pick up my rental. Yay me. No human injuries but the buck is sucking somewhere. Only thing that made it non drivable was a tab hit the transmission cooler and busted the weld. New cooler and 3 qts of fluid and back to work on Thurs. Glad everyone came out OK.

Gave a guy at the local flea market $20. for a large hand stitched quilt early yesterday morning. It's been a few years since I've found a nice quilt at a good price. Stretched out on the den floor.

Sad news. Mom peacefully passed away from natural causes recently. We celebrated her 101'st birthday back in July. My father passed away 17 years ago. Both of their urns will be buried together later in the week at Fort Jackson South Carolina's National Cemetery with full military honors. Dad was a heavily decorated US Army WWII and Korean War veteran. He received the Silver Star but did not receive the medal of honor. His commanding officer said that if he had been killed he would have given it to him.

I am so sorry for your loss, Rick. Losing a parent is tough. You had a lot of time to love her. 101 is pretty damn good!
I recently sent off for my late father in laws record. He was well decorated, too. He was a tailgunner in Korea and then he was in Vietnam. He was heavily involved in the nuclear military. I'd to see WHY he got some of those medals.
eta- at first I thought I read 99- I don't know what I was thinking. 101 is even better!
