Trick or Treat 2024 A Giant House Spider guarding my front door. Joro spiders made it down from north Georgia to my place last year. Some of the webs are 20 in diameter and of strong fibers.

Will be looking forward to the wolbachia bacteria to eliminate these spiders James. Running into an occasional web was a regular occurance. Some of the ATV trails in the forests had webs across them every 6 to 8 feet apart. They are like driving thru sticky hair nets.

Was able to get eight nice pieces cut and trimmed into knife blade preforms from the block of opalite I bought. The knife on the left I finished a couple days ago. I finished up the knife on the right side a couple hours ago. Now to the broken one - I put two and a half hours into pressure flaking it before the slippery little devil slipped out of my hand and hit the tarp. The tarp was covering the concrete surface on the front porch of our house. I've dropped a few before, but I usually have the tarp on soft ground which is more forgiving.

No cussing at all. Took a deep breath, went inside the house and took about a thirty min. snack and drink break. Went back outside and started a new one.

Handled it better than I would ! Maybe the pieces would make a couple of arrowheads or the point could make a nice wire wrap

Those blades are really lovely! And you are a way better person than me, the air would have been blue from my cussing..

First picking of our Jamaican Roselle Hibiscus (Hibiscus sabdariffa). We grow these annual bushes every year from seeds that we save.
They are actually the calyxes of the flowers of the plant, although some of them never have a flower, just this great big bud.
We have to peel the red parts off them, then dry them to make a wonderful deep red ice tea.

My brother got me drinking hibiscus tea. Not bad... this coming from someone who really doesn't like tea.
