Those of you like I stuck with trying to get by on city water. This is the city at its finest. The aroma of swamp water with just a we bit of skunk urine, it tastes just as bad. I cooked it in camping coffee pot then tried to filter it no go. Those of you with wells you suck.

dreamrocks. I feel your pain. When I had a new well drilled at a former residence, there was a malfunction when the drilling point and casing were being removed. They had hit the same artesian flow that I previously had. The malfunction resulted in cloudy water whenever it rained. This lasted for about 3-4 days, or until about 250 gallons of water was used. All water used for drinking/cooking had to be filtered before use. The water often left a brown stain on white clothes when they were washed. The water tasted fine, but was tough to drink stained water. The company refused to do anything about the malfunction unless I paid them to drill a new system. There was no legal recourse, I tried.

That brown staining sounds like heavy iron in the water or at some level in the ground that was drilled through. Not much you can really do about the iron in your water, the iron will always leach through the ground so drilling a new well I doubt it would help unless you were absolutely positively sure there was no iron in that new spot.
Running the water before use is about all you really can do to clear any settled deposits that has settled. When it is in suspended into a liquid state it’s in the water forever.
It’s a “tds totally dissolved solid” a simple explanation is to take a tablespoon of sugar and add to a glass of water, keep adding until the water will absorb no more the sugar takes all the available space allowed by the water then the sugar falls out of the water back into its original form in the bottom of the glass, everything prior that was dissolved in the water will stay that way dissolved forever. Is your iron problem
I had this water tested back over ten years ago and had a discussion with the state water tester and told her how to fix many issues with the water. She then asked me what made me such a expert in treating water and using chemicals to do so.
My answer “ well I think 15 years in pool chemical training, handling of a number of chemicals used to treat any water including warehouse handling and storing with certificates to put my words where my mouth is” then I opened the flood gates of how to use those chemicals properly.
For many years the water quality improved including no smell. During all these past years when my truck was on the road I hauled spring water from a free flowing spring well. I no longer have that as a option my truck frame is rusted beyond repair so I have been buying water. But in the last couple weeks there has been a shortage in water summer people have added to the shortage besides bringing the virus.

My water is good where I live now. Well good other than full of nitrates and potentially other hazardous items.
Many WI communities are pleading with summer people to stay away. Not only are they bringing COVID 19 to rural areas, but are also stockpiling food and other supplies that have limited availability. Many stores in these areas are now limiting the number of individual items that can be purchased. Some stores have a store wide limit of only two of a specific item per person. They are also not allowing families to use multiple carts. One case was documented where a family with 4 children tried to use 6 carts. Each child had a cart. Each cart had the 2 per person limit of certain items. They were mostly high demand items. What irked the store manager was that they were purchasing formula, diapers and wipes, but the youngest child was 8 years old. The family admitted they had planned on selling these items to others. Greed is running like wildfire in Norther WI tourist communities. Not by the year around residents, but by those coming in who want to benefit at the expense of others.

That seems like a big problem everywhere. If they don’t bring the virus they run to the store to stock pile items. Here the last time I went to the store planning to buy more water the kid bringing the last pallet of water and the shelf where the gallon jugs were only had 6 I took 4 then I asked the older gentleman standing there I asked him if he wanted half he said no I have a well so I grabbed another. He said he was happy that I offered to share with him instead of leaving him empty handed I felt as good as he did about offering what was not mine yet. That when the kid spoke up you better get what you need from what is left there are out of staters grabbing and cleaning off the shelves. Then I found out the older man was the kids uncle to whom I offered half of the water. What comes around goes around!!!

He’s getting big what did you name him Yeah, he's at least doubled in size already- and I think his teeth have gotten sharper! He had a name change, my daughter wanted to call him Kai so we're going with that I guess. I still think he's a Loki, however. He's very mischievous.

miket , it usually takes a couple years for my arms to clear up from all the scratches and bite marks when we get a new puppy - and that's a cocker spaniel, not a big guy like yours.

Do you mean he may experience more then just broken skin or even large chunks of missing skin with large gaping holes well Go Loki
