Tried something a little different (for me anyway) to try and showcase the stone a little more but I'm not entirely sure it works. Thoughts, please...

Well done! The copper windings are a perfect frame for the tight banding of the agate. If, at the bottom, the bend in the silver wire was more pointed and oriented towards the point of the cab, it would give that portion of the pendant equal emphasis.

I have no experience in wrapping, but IMO as far as how it looks I agree with the above to make the bottom pointed or to just completely get rid on the loop on the bottom and have it run straight across with a slight oval shape on the bottom.

Maybe I'll mess with it some. That's kind of the fun part of wrapping- if I don't like it I can always redo it...

It looks like it wouldn't be too hard just to pull the bottom curve a bit to the left and modify the curve to match the stone better. Post a pic when you're done??

Here it is with the change. The wires have little tiny bends in them on the bottom that I couldn't straighten completely, but they're not too bad- plus, the stone is still secure in the wrap. Not perfect, but then again I'm still an amateur!

I like that much better, even with the unfortunate little bends left over, it's a striking piece!

The new and improved version of the wrap looks good aside from the little whoopdedoops in the wire at the bottom. It happens to the best of us.

Artist's prerogative..... that's your story and you're sticking to it...LOL. If it was me I would redo it but it's really up to you since you are the artist.

Excellent, Mike! When I made my suggestion I had a smaller change in mind like this sloppy photoshopped copy, but your modification is superior.

I like the change. But, I'm willing to bet you can do better if you decide to redo it. Love the cab!

I agree with rockjunquie, miket. Love the cab and I know that you're not going to be satisfied with the wire at the bottom.
If I can make a suggestion, think about following the bottom point with the wire and using just a few bindings on each side of the point to hold the wire in shape. Here is an example of what I'm talking about (just look at the bottom of the wrap):

Thanks Robin- you were right, I already tore it apart and was rethinking the design...thanks for the idea!
