This saw is part of a craigslist find. A bunch of rock equipment was left in a garage and the new owner is selling it. I have never seen this saw. The name plate says it is an 18". The vise and rails look a little weak to me and I have never seen this model. I am afraid new parts may have to be custom made. Any help is appreciated. Chuck

Quick bump. Going to look at this tonight and need any info I can get. Thanks Chuck I would think that Tony catmandewe would be your guy, but he's in Quartzsite right now. Don't know how often he checks in while there. I looked on his website, and there's no phone number that I can see in order to call and nudge him a bit. Maybe roy can help as well. ETA: Vince hummingbirdstones2 seems to know saws, so I've added him too.

Drummond Island Rocks I showed this to Vince and he doesn't recognize it. I did some Googling and couldn't find anything that even resembled it.

It was stored with a rock half way into the blade. Did it die there and never get going again? And the fact that any replacement parts will have to be custom machined. I put off going to look at it until tomorrow but I still have no info to go off from my searching as well. Thanks Chuck

Nice looking saw. The carriage is similar to the Royal or Mojave Industries(Ideal). The arbor appears to be a poly arbor, Royal had there own design and Ideal saw used a poly arbor. The housing looks similar to the Ideal, but Ideal's have a feed motor in the front, I don't see a feed motor in the front on this one. It is probably from some small manufacturer, looks well belt and easy to fix if there are any issues, if it was a good buy I would not hesitate buying it.

After a couple texts I think he is looking for about $500 for the saw. There's other equipment in the listing and some rocks. Only 10 minutes away so worth taking a look. Chuck

if its in good working order with a blade with good use left thats a fair deal Yeah if the blade is shot that's a quick $300 alone on an 18". Right now I have 10", 12" and 14" saws so getting an 18" and selling my 12" would be ideal. Chuck

From what I can make out from the photos, to me it looks like it may be an old Jenkins Lapidary made saw.

Nice looking saw - even if I don't have a clue who made it.
Even if something did break and have to be machined/welded it looks like a pretty straightforward design that wouldn't be too difficult to replicate.

That CRS rock gripper is several hundred dollars new. If you can get this all for $600, you will not go wrong.
