That is a clever idea rockpickerforever. The knapping guys came up with the same idea often posting a tropical fish next to their arrowheads. Viewing google images will give more fish theme ideas. Deciding on color is a bit mind bending for some reason. Ladies seem to have a better knack at that. Men seem limited to flesh tones in their brains.

You can say or think of a color, but unless you are actually seeing it, in relation to other colors - and patterns - you just can't get the full picture.

Sometimes I wonder if the spectral sequence effects a human's recognition of a natural color sequence. Color blends are also highly effected by trends and are very real. Regions too, like beach house colors.

Love the transparents, jamesp ! The bumble bee is cool, too. You should trademark Glassper® if knave will let you. looks like I was too late.

braat what is your recipe? knave - I cut and preform glass with cheapo 7" tile saw with nothing special turbo diamond blade. I use my 3 lb rotary tumblers for stage one: 1 teaspoon coarse grit, 2/3 cup dried slurry (used stage one), glass to about 80-85% and water to about 60% (I use a metal ruler to measure glass and water levels). I do weekly clean outs and glass that is shaped OK and feels smooth to the touch all over (any imperfections and they go back in for another week) is set aside till I got enough for the remaining stages in the UV10 vibe. In the vibe: 2 days 220, 3 days pre polish and 3 days polish, 50 % media (aquarium quartz pea gravel) and 50 % glass...total volume level just below vibe center cone (1/2" or so with vibe not running). Each stage gets 2 tablespoons grit and 6 tablespoons borax (to slow down the action some). I check the action every 12 hours and add water as required depending how slow the action has become or not at all if it's moving about the same as before. At the end of each stage I fill the bowl with water and add 2 more borax and run for an hour then rinse and clean bowl, lid and hardware, media and glass in preparation for next stage. I use the same media in all vibe stages. After final polish same thing...fill bowl with water, add 2 borax and run for 1 hour then rinse, clean, dry and admire the results:) . This is how I do it...results are pretty good shine wise with little chipping/fracture/breakage. No doubt this could be more efficient but this works for me so I'm sticking with it. If I missed anything ask away...
