Dang, Now I want that one. Have to wait a year. My work allows for a new one every two years and I think I just passed a year with the XS max. Unless I accidentally run mine over with my truck sooner ..... Chuck

James, I googled it for you - Anymore, I don't know whether to call my cell a phone or a camera. (Have never even once taken a selfie with it, lol.)

jamesp HDR (High Dynamic Range) is where you take multiple shots of the same subject at different exposures and mix them together to make a better photo. My Canon EOS T6S (entry level DSLR) can take the photos automatically (3 photos at different exposure) but I have to process the photos with HDR software (Photomatix pro) on my laptop. Results are/were not bad. If you google "HDR images" you will see lots of stunning photos. I did mostly sunset photos (and some landscape) which turned out OK but long term I wasn't willing to spend the time required to get superior results. We get pretty good sunsets around here and I live on the edge of the city so when I see worthy sunsets it's easy to set up camera/tripod on my front lawn. Here's a couple of the better ones: IMG_1785_6_7_Compressor by braat33, on Flickr IMG_1540_1_2_Enhanced by braat33, on Flickr IMG_1413_4_5_Fusion-Interior by braat33, on Flickr

That is some sophisticated stuff rockpickerforever. This poor little point and shoot must be doing a billion calculations in a fraction of a second to make stacked photo. Selfies are a different social expression. They amuse me. Selfies always crack my camera lens.

The stacked version has blurry zones. Shot was hand held propped well but shook itsy bit. Even when camera is held dead still there are slight blurry areas. Guessing the expensive DSLR would not have such defects. Looks like a 1 inch depth and a 7 inch depth of field after stack.
