This is constructive criticism only and more what I think (my personal preference).
I think this one is not your best (and I think you probably think so too with your thread title). The wire on the cab weaving in and out which I think you did to mimic the shape of the fortification, is fighting for the overall visual with the fortification.
Your last couple wraps were really good, and I think if you wrapped this cab similarly and just made a bigger flourish on the top of the cab with your wires to disguise (or even out) the non-centered pattern in the stone, it would work better for you.
Love that cab!

I don’t know the size of the cab maybe it’s very small already. It’s better than anything I could do.

Love the cab, but agree that the wrap distracts from the cab.

Let that wowee zowee cab be the star of the show. Maybe the topknot could mimic the fortifications. A little.

I don't mind constructive criticism at all, Robin- in fact, that's mostly why I post these. To get input from people that have been doing this longer than me. Last night I had already decided to rewrap. I just don't really like it. Plus, I tried to get away with 3 wires and I just didn't think it really worked. This is one of my favorite teepee cabs that I've made and I really do want it to look nice. Thanks for the input!

Ok, redid it. I think it's better...hopefully. I was going to post something about the other one, but it looks like you changed what I was gonna say. I still don't like the copper binding at the top. It stands out too much. Well, not so much now, but before.
That's a killer stone and I think the second wrap really did it more justice.

I’d like to see it done all in copper not because I don’t like it now, but curious how the color would work.

I’d like to see it done all in copper not because I don’t like it now, but curious how the color would work. Just kidding. I did some in all copper when I first started wrapping- mostly because the wire was cheaper- but I just don't like it as much. I realize that is my personal taste but you're not wrong. The copper goes well with teepees. One of these days I'll do another in copper.

That's better Mike
altho you may go through more revisions personally I would grind more of that top matrix down and ovalize the stone to compact that main splash
zip a groove up the side pull a wire around
that a killer stone
where you get it?

Thanks Ed. It would look good with a groove wrap... It's one I found in South Dakota, love those Teepees. 😀

That's a beautiful stone! Perhaps a torch should be on the 2020 Christmas wish list?
