This week I was running a test trying to pre-cab then tumble some pendants made from jamesp glass. Since I only had a few pendants I used 1.5 pounds of obsidian as filler. The rest of the volume in the loto was mixed size ceramics. I do not usually try to photograph obsidian indoors but we have a bit of a snow storm going on so these are the best shots I could get. Thanks for looking Chuck

Good grief the JP glass looks so striking laying in that pile. Kinda like monochrome vs COLOR TV!

Mother Nature's glass and circus glass all in one batch. The mahogany is fine.

nice batch I know the silver is better than the picture shows Thanks. Yes that silver sheen piece might be my favorite obsidian tumble ever. That one deserves a video to show the velvet look as it moves around. That piece was easily twice that size when I started. Chuck

Mother Nature's glass and circus glass all in one batch. The mahogany is fine. They all played along nice in the tumbler. Cutting the grooves first was not a good idea but that's why we run tests. Chuck

Good grief the JP glass looks so striking laying in that pile. Kinda like monochrome vs COLOR TV! Thanks. Here are a couple pictures I took with a different camera last night. These were taken with a Nikon P900 that has a selective color option built in. It is a fun feature. Chuck

Nice job on the obsidian Chuck! Surprised the edges of the glass aren't more rounded. What steps did they go through?
ETA: and who swiped my avatar?

Nice job on the obsidian Chuck! Surprised the edges of the glass aren't more rounded. What steps did they go through? ETA: and who swiped my avatar? Great question. The pendants were cabbed to the 280 soft wheel on the genie first. After cabbing they went straight to the loto starting with 120/220. I fill the barrel with obsidian and ceramics and let it run for 4-5 hours. At the point I add the cabs in. That 4-5 hrs lets the 120/220 chill out a bit and avoids over rounding the edges of the cans. I do the same thing for agate and jasper cabs when tumbling. Chuck
