my 73 year old parents bought a house 3 weeks ago , we are doing a new kitchen , painting , redo on the bathroom and powder room and carpet . they are moving in on the 25. it is the fastest redo that me and my brothers have undertaken. i think it is easier to buld a new house than a redo.

thanks all mom and dad's is almost done, they move in on friday. thank god i work for my brother and my wife supports me when i take off three weeks to do this family work. the look on someones face when they pull up to a house they just bought and see the kitchen and bath room in the back of your truck heading for the dumpster is worth not getting paid for a few weeks

Wonderful job!!
Is that laminate or hardwood in the kitchen? We are starting a renovation in our 100 year old house and want laminate in our kitchen/dining room /family room combination but aren't too sure how it would stand up to the water in a kitchen.
Thanks for any advice.

it is 3/4 inch oak. my sister has the laminate flooring in her kitchen, it has held up well. i just don't like that you can tell its not real wood as soon as you walk in the house.
