Hi - I implore you to please read this book before you start the hobby. It explains a great deal in detail about successful rock tumbling and will eliminate most of your confusion I'm sure. This website has lots of good, proven info about how to be a successful tumbler. rocktumbler.com/book.shtmlBuying the book now!!! Thank you so much! I and other forum members will be happy to explain any questions you may have when reading this book. It is an easy read I think, not a college course. I like the charts used in the book about how much grit to use with various size of barrels. Please let me know how you a doing as you progress in this great hobby!

I ordered the book, so it should arrive late next week. I'm excited for it. I have a large pile of rocks to tumble "one day" that I need to learn about. I've been collecting in the wild for years, so I really don't know anything about these rocks other than I think they are pretty and want to see them rounded and shiny! Haha I haven't placed any orders other than the book. I'm starting there and will be happy to update!!!

Yea, going big with a quality tumbler would be mine. Also taking a before picture, since it's the only chance you get once they start rolling.
33B has its place, but the QT12/66 is hard to beat.
