Very pretty, Mike! I think you could have made the bail just a bit taller to balance the whole thing out, but it's a really nice wrap as it is.

Looks great, but I agree with Robin on the bail.
BTW- are you still using the binding wire inside out?

Now that I look at it, I think you're right. I also overwrapped the bail due to cutting the a on accident an equipment malfunction, that may have also contributed. Anyway, thank you for the compliment and input!

Yeah, I may redo it- the more I look at it the less I like the bail. And I really like the stone. Since I can't show my face anymore on this website I might as well admit that it is. I was only going with the curve of how the wire was shipped to me and I just assumed that it was turned the right way. And I didn't even think to look. Sigh, it was fun while it lasted....

Where did you get your wire? Was it on a spool? I really, really don't like spooled wire unless it is very thin. If they sent it to me inside out, I would have sent it back. I think you'll find it much better the right way round.

That's cool, Mike. This might sound bad, but I mean it in a very good way ... the asymmetry of the cab with its flaming red with its rising smoke looks to me like the cab and metal are beginning to deform from the heat. I like it!

I think you'll find it much better the right way round. Some has come on a spool, some as a loose coil. I just looked and the coiled wire is coiled inside out. Like I said, I never even looked to check that, I just wrapped. So dumb, that doesn't even make sense. Boy am I ever embarrassed- thanks for pointing it out.

I like it! Thanks Gary! As I've mentioned in the past, I enjoy your comments. You notice things that I never even think to notice- you have an artist's eye for sure. It didn't sound bad at all, it does look like smoke. This is one of my favorite cabs I've freeformed so far.

We've all done things like that before.

LOL! Hell, Mike, I didn't even notice the binding wire was inside out. Like Tela said, it will work so much better for you to use it with the flat side against the wires and it will be much easier for you to control your wires. Wherever you bought that wire from on the spool, don't buy from there again. They're obviously a$$-backwards.
I don't want to hear any of this nonsense about not showing your face again. You are learning and are expected to make mistakes on occasion (even seasoned wrappers make mistakes and have to fix them). Nobody is perfect (especially me!). The amount of progress you've made since you first started out is amazing IMNSHO.
Redo your wrap (flat side of half round to the inside) and show us your new, improved pendant. The stone is awesome and I think you will be much happier with it.

Thanks, I was joking- sort of. 😀 I can't believe I didn't notice , it's that way on some others, too. It's hard to tell with the naked eye but I guess it is what it is. Yes, I'm going to fix it and I do appreciate the kind words ! Back to the drawing board...
