Lavic is a most beautiful stone with pesky pits and cracks. A teaser. Those look as good as it gets Chuck.

Those are beautiful, Chuck. I really like the source on some of your Lavic. There is so much diversity out there, that I am seeing new families of Jasper come from Classic Lavic all of the time. Really surprising.
I have not tumbled much, honestly, but I should post what I have. The reason is mostly because of the character of Lavic. There is always that "pit" that just happens to show up, right in the middle of the rock you've been whittling away at for 12 weeks. Hehe. And they are just sooo beautiful! Ornery runts!
Inspires me to post some of mine. I got to warn you, that mine are not in your league!
Thanks for sharing!

you got a good entry of rough... all of my are plain brown and ugly I always have a tough time with guessing how the judges will judge the rocks. If it were up to me I would always send in the 5 rocks with the least imperfections and best shine but I get the feeling that sending 5 with better colors and patterns that may have pits or fractures might get judged higher. Its a crap shoot at best. Chuck you could go with a mix - a plain one or two to show your skills with rough that isn't constantly trying to fall apart and then the rest of the prettiest, with the least flaws, the best combo you can come up with. (The one with the quartz vein and the milky-way looking red one are real stunners to me! =) they look great. (mine got demoted to filler months ago. maybe i'll get something decent one day and it'll be the size of a pea!)
