Wow, that lepidolite sure turned out pretty. Such a nice dark purple, that is going to make a real nice necklace. Please post a pic when you get that one wrapped.
I have a piece of lepidolite I am tumbling right now and keeping a close eye on it cause its so soft. Mine is kinda a medium purple color right now. Its kind of an interesting stone and its supposed to be good for insomnia.

Very cool rocks Banjo! I was just admiring the view again...LOL! Which are your favorite rocks? I like the unakite I think it was? Thanks so much for sending me those beautiful african rocks along with the others. You did great as always. I'm always excited to open that box once it arrives in record time! Thanks again. Oh, will you be ordering more african rocks than? Just a curious mind here working over time on building my mountain of rocks...LOL!

I'll keep you posted on the African rocks. Right now it seems as if my contact fell off the map. She said Zimbabwe is not a real easy place to get around, yet alone do business. I'll see what the respondse is in a day or so. I've looked around on-line at examples of the rocks she sent, and it seems that the quality of the stuff she sent me is very far superior to what I've been seeing on the average. I'd hate to lose her The Iron Pyrite does look very silver when I take pictures in the house. The camera compensates for the yellow of Tungsten light and backs some of it out, so I'm left with silver instead of gold. A little time in 'Photoshop' can fix it, but I think you get the idea. I'll have to post the set with the earrings I did this weekend of that Basalt and Iron Pyrite.

Hey banjo can Kyanite be cabbed? I saw some for sale on a cabbing site (just rough) If I remember correctly it has a different hardness depending on which way you test it! Try cabbing some- or send me one and I'll take a swing at it.

Yeah it can. Very interesting stuff. With the grain you can polish it and it is a bit porous because of the grain, but spin it 90° and now you have a reflective type material, sorta like Mica, only it is harder and doesn't flake. maybe I can post pics if I get them polished up this weekend. It's pretty cool.
