Orbs? Hi, just checking in with you - did either of these beauties ever get finished into a cabochon for the contest? Both are completed. I only photographed the big one. The material was great and little artistry involved, so no entry. I took a picture of the other one.

We're only missing the side (dome) shot for a complete set of photos

If the contest was in May, this would have been my entry:

Thank you everyone for another fantastic cab contest! The entries are stunning displays of the talent of our members and all of them fit the "orbs and spots" theme magnificently. As I noted above, I'm on the road until later this week but I'll clean up the main voting collage to include all ten cropped entry photos. Until I get this done please be sure to scroll down to view entries 9 and 10 before placing your vote!

That Montana agate is pretty amazing... might have to go on another roadtrip. (Went to NV last weekend for agate and a ton of other stuff!)

Congratulations gemfeller on a beautiful cabochon and a decisive win! In fact I would say you solidly kicked all of our butts - no other cab was even close on the voting. Please let me know what you will choose as a prize, either a small box of tumbling rough or a shirt or mug from the RTH Store - AND you now get to choose the contest theme for August.

Wow, I won something! Thanks all for your comments. I just happened to have the right rough at the right time. Tommy, I'm a mug guy. My former chest has slipped down to my stomach and I look silly in T-shirts. In fact I just look silly, but I'll class-up as I sip herbal tea from my new RTH mug. As for next month's theme, I'm pondering. I can think of lots of possibilities but all folks may not have some materials I have in mind. I'll make a decision soon and let you know.

Tommy, I think I'll go with the crossed rock hammers. No skull but looks a little pirate-ish. "Arrghh, matey, let's dig for some buried treasure!" Thanks.
