So Miss Noreen... is she hard to get? Easy to find? Where is the source... I bought a chunk from MN Lapidary supply a few weeks ago. They said it was from Australia but don't know. Was $4/lb so thought I'd give it a try.

So Miss Noreen... is she hard to get? Easy to find? Where is the source... pretty easy to get I'd say. I picked up cpl cheap slabs of it off ebay. $5 for one and $7 for other. just got a 3lb faced block of it in today for $25 shipping included off ebay as well. cuts like butter w my 10in tile saw!

I don't know how I missed this but I'm glad it got bumped! That's a beautiful cab, I love the barbed wire look. Had to look again to see the deer and sure enough there it is. As far as which end up, I'm in the I can't decide camp. Great work! thanks Mike!

When i slabbed my chunk of noreena, i ended up with a lot of little pieces due to internal cracks etc. Is this stuff just going to fall apart when i try to cab it or is that pretty normal?

I should add, i typically set the slabs down firmly down on my work surface to break the weak spots so it doesn't happen after i'm half through a cab. I did that for a few of the above. Wanted to see if you had a similar experience when making your cab.

Noreena is from Australia. It can be very cracky, so it may or may not fall apart on you when you start grinding.
It's pretty difficult to find a solid piece or Noreena.

yeah, the cab was originally going to be more egg shaped than turned our but bottom end broke while cutting the preform on my tile saw. I usually drop a slab a few inches from the concrete floor of my garage If dealing with fracturing material. or now give a go at breaking with my hands. usually if think it will break by hand it does .

Yeah after I took that picture I was playing around with it and ended up with about 15 more pieces...
