Here are my latest 40 dremel cabs to come out the lot o. there were a couple that will have to redo if I ever get around to it. but overall happy with how they turned out. most were started in the lot o AO500 stage and a dozen or so were put in at the AO1000 stage. dont remember which ones exactly. I'm sure I've posted most of these as works in progress in previous threads but theres a few new ones mixed in. Hope you enjoy and thanks for looking! if I have any incorrectly ID'd please let me know.
first up is what I think is Mookaite-
these are unknown, maybe wonderstone?
Graveyard Point Plume and Blue Lace-
Chapenite-
Unknown- bit bummed about these. one on left I knew was fractured before lot o but one on right lost alot of pink banding after 1k grit stage In lot o.
Left is Quetzal agate, right is Moroccan agate-
Moroccan agate- love this material but both have some internal fractures, most noticeable in one on right.
Crazy Lace -
Crazy Lace- these both were polished before but reran them to clean up some scratches I noticed after their first run.
Left is crazy lace, right is crazy lace or Laguna lace.
Left crazy lace, right laguna lace-
Left Reyes Agate, Right Montana agate -
Both unknown, right one self collected from san jacinto river gravel. one of the brightest and deepest reds I've seen. unfortunately I have to rework it because it undercut a small spot on right side of cab that's noticable in hand more than this pic.
left I think is an owyhee jasper and right i think is an Idaho material-
couple Noreena jasper- first time polishing noreena and not the best shine. also left one has some surface cracks/fractures that seem to come and go when sanding it down before lot o. got lots of noreena cabs waiting to be polished so I got to see what can do to get better results than these.
this unknown agate is one of the most brightly colored cabs I've done. picture drowns the color in a more red tint than in hand. theres more blue, purple and yellow/orange colors than picture shows. love the material and wish I could get more of it.
mexican moss agate- these are more colorful in person. picture makes look more brown than they are.
Swazi agate- have to rework one on right to remove the scratch smack dab in middle of cab. not sure how I missed that when sanding...
Stromatolite- bummer that soft spot near bottom of cab popped up during lot o run. will rework it someday
.
Mexican Serape agate-
And finally, just a group shot of the bunch-
THANK YOU for looking and making it through my incredibly long post! As always I'd love to hear if you have any suggestions on how can improve and welcome and appreciate any/all feedback !!
