That reminds me...I have some Brazil agate that has been in stage 4 for 2.5 weeks. I should get off the internet and put it into burnish before it gets dark. TTYL Sounds like you're getting bored of them over there greig . You should send them my way Seriously though, share some pictures when they're done! I left them in a bit too long and have some damage. Back to stage 2 for a little bit and try again with 3 & 4. I met Red Skelton backstage a numer of years ago and he said "Toronto is a nice city...if they ever get it finished". I feel the same way about this tumble. LOL

I've had good luck with Ivory shavings in my vibe during 600 grit and polish as a thickener. Cleans the rocks and bowl nicely. I've also tried Borax and it gave a very nice shine but it will stick to any hidden cracks unless you rinse well.
I too have had some damage in polish due to impact cracks and dings. Still trying to work that out. Suspect it's caused when I have too many larger rocks in the same batch. It seems more common when I run the 600 grit in the rotary.

Greig, I met Red Skelton once back in June or July 1988 as we were headed to Hawaii on the same airplane. I was in military uniform walking down the aisle of the plane to my seat and he stopped me to wish me luck. It's just neat you met him too.

I’m not a tumbler, but one of the differences is that hand soap has lotion in it.

One more reason laundry soap has less foam.

I’m not a tumbler, but one of the differences is that hand soap has lotion in it. Yes and no -- Dove definitely does ("3/4 moisturizing cream!"), I'm sure others do to some degree as well. My homemade soap doesn't. I'm too lazy to learn to make lotion, that's why I made soap
