Thought I'd show my recent coprolite cab, as well as share a tip I used, to try and limit undercutting. Truth be told, I was a little hesitant to jump on the coprolite cab wagon, when I've read about the undercutting problems that can surface. But I have these fine slabs from Randy, and I wouldn't want them to languish, unappreciated.
My first cab (not shown) indeed had the undercutting problem, so I thought I'd try something different. Before cutting my pre-form out, I stabilized it with a thinned epoxy. It's my go-to method, usually for crumbly and fractured stones, but I figure it couldn't hurt & maybe it would help the undercutting. My recipe here: forum.rocktumblinghobby.com/post/1252495Well, it seemed to work, so much so that I'm thinking to take my test further, & re-visit my first cab which is already ground into an oval. I'm wondering if I stabilized it now, & then move onto pre-polish & polish, it will also limit the undercutting ? We shall see. I will report back one way or another.

It's your nature to always do a great job. Thanks, Dave, But I think it might be, that it's, in my nature, to TRY and do a great job.
Not always succeeding, but hopefully enjoying trying.

These latest are all coming from a blue area? Nope, they are found along side others that are very different. There could be a million years between them though.

It looks like a limb section broke apart. It sure does. I also wonder if it could be the remnants of two side by side to each other?
