Those dung beetle burrows look like a road map of a major city. Major highways and neighborhood streets.

Those dung beetle burrows look like a road map of a major city. Major highways and neighborhood streets. Now that you mention it... that's all I'm gonna see now.

What you saw on the outside was confirmed on the inside.

What you saw on the outside was confirmed on the inside. Yes, this one had some good clues on the outside, unlike so many others that don't. On average it's really hard to know what's on the inside till cut open.

If the identification is correct, time to join the hall of shame:

If the identification is correct, time to join the hall of shame: Any idea where it came from?

The nat geo kits (I bought a few) are normally not good.and the selection is really really poor. Some of the lamest geodes

I bought 4 and let me tell you a 40 percent cavity success rate is just unacceptable. in the one i listed i normally buy the medium and large kits. I have a review up in the vendors section. One thing I will say...100% cavities. Most impressive. The last set didn't have sexy bands but the mineral structure was worth it.

The above specimen is interesting in that beetle portals are preserved on the exterior.
