good shine with the tin oxide not the cerium. i have some polish sands recommended m-5 from cyberrockhound.com that i still haven't tried yet but i've seen sands cabs using it and it works. banjo uses something with optical grade cerium mixed in i think but you'll have to ask him about that. i think bearcreek sent it to him or told him. i also got a leather pad instead of the felt one for polishing. sands guided me through it all when i got my genie. i mix my polish with a small amount of water making a paste and put it on the pad with a wet sponge (keep a small bowl of water handy to keep the sponge wet). when the pad starts to dry it will grab your cab and send it flying across the room so re-wet it when you feel it starting to grab.

That is about the best deal I have EVER seen. That is over $2,000.00 worth of stuff you got there. You should be in 'Fat City' with that set-up. I can't think of anything I would rather have an Uncle 'bestow' upon me. Way to go there!! Just water on all 6 wheels. I run my leather pad on the end more dry than wet. To each their own I think. But that last wheel is such a fine diamond grit that they'll look really good even before to buff them on the end. You do have to remove the plastic shield on the end to use it, if you want to keep the shield over the wheels. I think it's just three screws. Go to town!!

Boy, what a great Uncle! I've never been that lucky. You're going to love them both. I'm just learning to use my Genie too, and still waiting for my saw. Can't wait to see pictures of what you do. Trish

Lots- awesome setup- Does your uncle still work rock? I got sands old grinder and I'm waiting for the leather belt for polishing- One thing I learned is that You can polish on an old sanding belt (mines was a 600) what I do is turn the drip off then use a wet rag to keep the belt damp- I run the cab over it and let the wheel dry out- When it starts to grab (you'll feel it) I remove the rock and inspect the shine- if it is a hard stone (agate quartz ect.) usually one ofr 2 passes will do it- softer stuff is a bit more difficult to get shining with this method. Congrates on some nice equipment!
