This piece of obsidian took about 7 months to tumble (rotary only-QT12).
Had some issues with internal fractures being exposed inside the stone.
Alternated between SiC and AOx in an attempt to fix some of the imperfections, but, they ran deep and ended up grinding them out.
Started at about 5lbs, ended at about 1.45lbs.
I was taking a picture/week for the first 8 weeks, and then I got too busy/lazy.

Final product:

That wavy line off-center appeared in the last few weeks--I decided not to bother with it...

I couldn't tell you, I think these stones are from three different sellers, one seller does claim Oregon among his many sources...so it is possible.

A lot of quartz/quartzish stones in my area: pretty easy to tumble.
Easy to identify because they are usually river rounded, very heavy, and have minimal damage for their size/shape.

I have my choice of white, yellow, grey, and pink/red.

My gf says that I don't have to pick up ALL the reddish quartz...I live in MA so I have very few stone options for tumbling...so yes...yes I do...
