lordsorril Your alien experience gave me the creeps! Hahaha, yeah it was pretty weird. I wasn't going to say anything, but, I had another weird event that night. As we were walking back to my car-we had to pass through a brightly lit hospital parking lot. Approaching the parking lot I saw the silhouette of a large bird launch out of the highest tree in the distance, fly across, bank around a light pole and then land in a tree branch beside an adjacent condo complex. I could not see it perfectly in the lighting, but, the size, wing span, and the profile was of a great horned owl. I turned to my group and asked them if they had seen it-and no one had (even though it had been super obvious). Everyone started joking that I was 'tripping' on something and hallucinating owls and aliens. I directed the groups attention to the owl in the tree branch, but, when I did: There was nothing there-which earned me another round of jeers. Shortly after-everyone was more observant of the skyline, and-a large bird launched out of the same highest tree, flew across the parking lot, banked around the same light pole and then landed in the same tree branch adjacent to the condo complex. My group saw it and was pretty thrilled. However, I was disturbed: the bird had flown precisely in the *exact same route* and it appeared *exactly* the same in a deja vu style. I told my gf to look for wires-as this could be some sort of elaborate decoration, but, neither of us could see any. With uncanny timing an elderly woman hobbled out of the apartment complex where the bird was sitting above and she had several large bags of candy and she persisted until we took some. I mentioned the owls and even pointed to the one directly above her and she did not look, just smiled, and said nothing. After getting a handful of chocolates our group started to leave and the woman reached out her index finger and beckoned me closer and her smile turned to a scowl and she moved her head up to my shoulder and whispered in my ear: 'Those are not owls-They are watching you'. I was stunned and said nothing. I was so puzzled-I just turned and left with the group without saying anything. I saw no wires in the hospital parking lot...weird... Photo #425

Hmmm, did you eat the chocolates the old woman gave you? How are you?

Hmmm, did you eat the chocolates the old woman gave you? How are you? I did: I had a Reeses Peanut Butter Cup, and a small snickers bar. I'm fine. I try not to think about it. Photo #426BP = 100% Het Piebald (possible *very* low expression OD)

Bought this handsome man the other day. He has an incomplete dominant gene called 'Special' and is 100% Het for another recessive trait called 'Monsoon'.

lordsorril What in the world is Het? Have been looking at your images and you use the term all the time, but I cannot tell from context other than it is perhaps some sort of gene identifying nomenclature?

lordsorril What in the world is Het? Have been looking at your images and you use the term all the time, but I cannot tell from context other than it is perhaps some sort of gene identifying nomenclature? A wise person asks questions. Het is short for Heterozygous. Simplified Down: Every living cell is composed of DNA. DNA Is composed of two intertwined strands formed by groupings of 4 nucleotides in specific sequences we call 'genes'. At any given point (locus) on the DNA strand there are potentially two genes paired up (one on each strand). In most organisms: one copy of the DNA strand comes from the mother, and one from the father. Heterozygous means that there is *one* copy of a particular gene at a given locus. Some traits require one copy to be observed ('expressed'), and others called 'recessives' require two matching copies of the same gene for expression. For recessive traits that cannot be seen without two copies of a gene present you can calculate the probability that one gene was transmitted from a parent to the offspring. A 50% Het has a 50% chance of inheriting *one* copy of a recessive gene. A 100% Het is guaranteed to have one copy of the gene (with limited and/or no expression). If there are two copies of a gene then technically an organism is 'homozygous', however, snake breeder culture prefers to use fancy phrases like 'Super' to indicate two copies of a visible Het (e.g. Super Pastel, Super Enchi etc), and a specific name when there for 2 copies forming a visible recessive trait--(i.e. you would just call an Albino an Albino instead of a 'Super Albino')... Hopefully this clarifies a little.
