Very nice set of cabs! I absolutley love the first unknown cab. It looks like 2 suns coming up behind clouds. It's beautiful
What sort of tips or mandrels do you use to shape the domes? I'm trying to learn to make cabs and have been using my diamond cutting disc and the round sandpaper mandrels. I do the pre shape with the tile saw.

I enjoyed them all, but my very favorite is that one-eyed fella lookin' back at me! (It's the one with the pink druzy pocket.)

Very nice set of cabs! I absolutley love the first unknown cab. It looks like 2 suns coming up behind clouds. It's beautiful What sort of tips or mandrels do you use to shape the domes? I'm trying to learn to make cabs and have been using my diamond cutting disc and the round sandpaper mandrels. I do the pre shape with the tile saw. thank you! the suns of the first unknown was actually my reason for attempting that cab even with the obvious flaws. as for bits that I use- I only use diamond cutting discs in the 50mm and 60mm size. 60mm is a bit big for the flex shaft and tends to have some extra wobble to it but i can cut cabs much quicker with it. 50mm is what I tend to use on smaller cabs or when I run out of 60mm discs. just a heads up that I tend to only get a cab or two out of each disc before the grinding slows majorly. then to touch up the shaping I sand the cabs down with silicon carbide sandpaper. I cut out 5 or 6 circles of sandpaper about 50mm diameter and stack them together on regular mandrel. once the paper has lost its effectiveness I simply cut off the top piece of sandpaper revealing a fresh piece.
