I now think of the passing of universes being like the passing of human generations. Babys are born, mature , have children - their children mature and have children . . . 3-4 generation's age and die, constantly being replaced by the newer versions.
ALWAYS Improving?

In the words of Moses (translated to English) In the beginning God created the heavens and the Earth. I am thinking that our concept of God is too small and limited.

Funny how there are all these dualities Expansion/contraction- wave/particle- hot/cold- mind/body and mohs favorite rock/roll To reiterate the pre-Socratic viewed these dualities as a problematic. Or something to overcome in the contemplative mind. It as something to do with the first city states concept An awakening. Where did all this come from? Not in a metaphysical sense. But in their growing command and technological achieving. All of sudden mankind found itself in a man-made world. A new dawn! They saw this promise and order as a new state of being An alleviating of wants. Plato concept of soul and the city as a complimentary Yet the contemplative mind logically rebels. The new lawgivers had a problems on their mind How to keep this promise healthy growing ? without the psyche bifurcating ? Parmenides- met it head on with pure logic stating that the ultimate source is One. The dualities therefore don’t exist. This logic extended so far as to deny motion altogether. Heraclitus- took a bit of different approach. He affirmed the reality of the dualities. But the ultimate source was still one stable entity, mostly. Somehow out of that being is created the infinite world of difference. Ah the Greek were sly coy. They met these philosophical/mythical corundum with a thing called Attic Tragedy….

True enough. Nothing like a dinosaur our wood fossil to humble you about our time on earth. And then some radiodating of other rocks makes you realize that, in the grand scheme of things, even dinos aren’t all that old. Billions of years from now... talk about a slow-speed collision (cue sound effects, “noooooooooooooooo...”). You know what really blows my mind about time? I think it was RWA3006 who posted the picture of some coprolite that had petrified wood in it. (I hope I am remembering that right. I'm blonde and old!) Talk about mind blown!

I think I have mentioned before that my brother in law is a quantum physicist. He works at the Jefferson lab collider. We have some really cool conversations.... but my brother is even more interesting. He once spent the entire drive from Florida to Virginia explaining to me how quantum physics easily explains Jesus Christ and miracles. Interesting stuff.

There have been several cool books that talk about how physics and spirituality are not necessarily in conflict. "The Tao of Physics," by Fritoj Capra is one.

Too cool! I guess that is a family in which both science and spirituality were discussed.

I have believed this ever since I was in my early twenties because I concluded that A. truth does not contradict itself, and B. truth is self existant, meaning that the truth is the truth regardless of anybody's opinions, emotions, powers, etc. I could very well be wrong but it's the best I can come up with for now and I acknowledge I know very little and will revise my belief as I acquire more knowledge ... or faith. Regardless, for the here and the now I often marvel at the immensity of time and space especially when I'm in the vastness of the empty spaces and with a single glance I can observe the layers that bear witness to what has transpired before. It's mind boggling and beautiful.

I like to be a lot more dogmatic about what I don't know m stly Its an interesting question though In the Western philosophical tradition the most bedrock philosopher is Socrates He loved wisdom But never really postulated any hard truth At least as portrayed by Plato.... will remark tho that Socrates/Plato lays out framework -maybe even a system- in which the Truth can be…

I like to be a lot more dogmatic about what I don't know m stly Reminds me of a bumper sticker I saw a few years ago: “your karma ran over my dogma.”

What is Karma? Besides a really interesting concept I have private concept of it Probably try to practice that concept to the best of my ability Not really sure why? Is it metaphysical thing? A common sense thing ? Cultural practice? A religious concept ? A cause/ effect dogma? Does everyone really get their just dessert? I really don’t I do knohs that I was writing philosophical treatise on RTH And missed two old white males tell each other to eff off Some political informed person I am karma in action i suppose

All that said there as been a strong karmic metaphysical tendency from the Pre Socratic philosophical tradition
Things come to be and are destroyed according to necessity, for they meet out penalty and retribution to one another for injustice according to the ordering of time.
~Anaixmander

A photo of the "Middle Ages." Last year I pondered "If I'm so smart, why did it take me 13.7 bullion years to get here?" Now realizing the Big Bang is still underway, my penetration of the new universe Event Horizon could have been fairly recent, asuaging my consternation.

As for getting just desserts, remember it's not necessarily in this lifetime. Not always "Instant Karma."
