Thanks, guys *blush* RECIPE? They were in straight 80 grit until they were really round and smooth (maybe 8-10 weeks for the agates, chalcedony, and p-woods, 4 weeks for the jaspers and quartz...) then 120/220 for 2 weeks 500 for 2 weeks a 24 hour burnish with Ivory Snow and plastic pellets (the burnish cycle did damage and pit some of the softer rocks - they went into the redo pile) then into polish with plastic pellets for 10 days - not sure what kind of polish, it came with my tumbler kit and wasn't labeled... I recharged bi-weekly with fresh grit and never reused slurry I have 2 Lortone QT66 tumblers Just call me James Junior - hahaha Susan PS: I'm happy with them for a first batch, but am still seeking perfection

Still looking for perfection?? ... I think you've already found it!! That is an amazing batch... c'mon, it's not really your first. Is this James in disguise? Hey, you're allowed to take more than two pics too! I have to ask what those green ones with the brown patches are. I did some of that years ago, and it was labelled as BC jade when I bought it. Lately I've wondered if it was labelled properly, and if it isn't really a jasper? Anyway, top notch polish!

OK, Rollingstone asked for more photos. I really am kinda proud of them... Some of Banjo's Wild Horse or Blue Mustang picture jasper (with some rough). I think some Owyhee sneaked in, too - NM and AZ agates and chalcedony and a piece of quartz? NM red jasper (prone to pitting...) and a piece of leopardskin. I won't tumble these again - too soft Some NM petrified wood All but the picture jaspers were self-collected. Thanks for viewing. Susan

Alice, I have the Apache Tears Banjo and I picked up at Burro Creek in polish right now, expect them to be done on Sunday. I have a barrel of mixed carnelian and blue agate from The Rock Shed in coarse, and another barrel full of Botswana agates that came from redwoodrocks (thanks again, Cal) and Superagates.com. I'll be posting photos in another 6 months...hahaha - S

I see you are a "follow the directions" kinda gal. You must be blessed with infinate patience to have waited it out to the end. Perfect batch, first or otherwise. So now I think I'll let that petwood stay in 600 a leeeetle bit longer cookie
