81743 this afternoon 81738 this morning
5 cubic feet of water

yep according to my math that basically 40 gallons uuuggghhhhh!
not sure what that mans doing! I told him to turn it off at the main
and just go out in the alley and turn it on as an on need basis....
and great during a pandemic when hand washing is at premium

Some water heaters are 40 gal. But still, doesn’t add up. That’s shouldnt equal $300 or more in one month. We are a family of 6 with swimming pool etc and waste a lot of water. Our rates have doubled also. $600 for 3 months ugh.

nonetheless losing 40 gallons of water in 5 hour period is really really bad
I'm not sure what the rate is but our monthly bill as been 50 dollars a month for eons last month it was 350 dollars
I'm rock grinding fool but not that much
my bottle water cost 89 cent for a gallon I've done 3 hearts already washed my hands and slated my thirst I'm low maintenance ...mostly
anyway trying to get a hold of the LL tell him to turn it off overnight it will easily lose over 1000 gallons
jeez!

now ya got me imagining 5 cubic feet of geometric space yep that a lot of water Now try imagining three hundred bucks worth of geometric space. : ) You can lose a ton of water underground and never see it, Ed. Hell, you might be re-charging an aquifer. If your neck of the woods is anything like around here, Ed, there’s a shutoff out near the street, probably just inside the property line, and your landlord owns—and is responsible for— everything from there to and in the house except the water meter. Is the water meter inside or do they set ‘em outside down your way?

Could someone else be using your water? Turn it off at the curb and see if anyone complains.

Yeah… the meter out in the alley Rich off the property easy access, mostly
that where I've been taking the pictures and Tom as turned it off many times he had it off for 4 days that got a little rough
---I mean I'm not working not going out-- of coarse I just need to shower occasionally
as long there are buckets of water in the bathroom I can flush what more does a guy need?---
not sure why he's leaving it on now?
its been on all day and that water is really leaking
your right tho that leak must be under that concrete slab and for some reason the hot dry hohokam ground is just sponging up all that water....
thanks I got nothing else to do-- but try to learn and tomorrow I plan on grinding water bottles ...

Next stop is probably a plumber with sonic leak detector.

There should be a shut off between the meter and the house supply line or on it. Shut off the supply line and see what the meter does, I suspect the meter. That much water cant soak into the ground and just disappear, it will come up somewhere !

mohs, I don't know anything about plumbing, but I do remember when I was back in Chicagoland and one of the toilets in the house was running and we didn't know it. The water bill was crazy high!
Is just your place on that meter or are there more apartments connected to it?
P.S. God bless wells!

Good luck Ed. Don’t fall into an aquifer or sinkhole while you sleep. Best of luck.
