Haven't had much garage time lately, but I got into the garage last night and was able to cut some preforms on the tile saw and thought I'd share. Oh, and does it count as freeform if you draw a shape without a template? Any ID's would be fantastic.
Thanks for looking.
First, the slab and what I cut out of it, from drocknut . These should be beautiful.
Also should be very nice, there's some good colors.
Also from Walt, if I remember correctly.
A Teepee Canyon.
And finally, a couple from slabs that roy sent. The first I think is Graveyard Point, the second one I have no idea- but it's going to be fantastic. I'm showing a closeup of the patterns, there's some wicked 3d effects that I hope to bring out.

Very cool, can't wait to see them after you're done!
The top slab and associated preforms look like amethyst/sage without any of the amethyst to me. The first two from Walt I'm not sure about, but the third looks like Morrisonite or maybe Carasite? The bottom two look like either graveyard point or stinking water for the second to last, and a richardson's ranch thunderegg on the last one. My best guesses anyway.

jasperfanatic that it is the name I bought it is golden dendritic sage and it does not have any amethyst or purple at all just It has a crumbly white matrix some has various colors of light to darker yellow golden color with plenty of dendritic pattern in my piece other maybe not as much deep golden color or dendritic pattern Dale from west coast gems on eBay sells it

The first one is most likely dendritic Burro Creek Opalite, especially if it came from drocknut who lives near Burro Creek.

And thanks for trying to help on the ID. That last one (thunderegg?) was a small slab in a box of random slabs that I purchased from roy a while back. I think it's going to look really nice when I finish it.

Oh yeah, that one is still in pieces. I'm using one from Mr. Walt right now. Still trying to decide if I want to fix that other one that I smoked or just wait and get a real saw some day.

I've bought both from him as well, and the dendritic opal does look like the sage form amy/sage, the only reason I guessed the amy/sage was because that stuff has the white crust on it that you see here...the dendritic opal didn't, at least the chunk I bought didn't...Also, some of the amy/sage stuff is primarily more opalite, or only a mixture of amethyst/sage at one end and all yellow/orange at the other. Sounds like AzRockGeek has a better line on it though.

Now that explains the rainbow effect (opal) one end of the piece I have it also has the soft white crumbly matrix on the end with the rainbow colors on one end also has the same in the eras that have chipped off the matrix I did send him a email asking what that was I was wondering because of the dominant colors being purple and green and minor flashes of yellow if it was rainbow obsidian. His wife replied saying dale could answer but was out of town for couple weeks then I forgot. She did say opal was found in that area but a common white opal
