Here's my newest bunch of attempts- I'm posting although sometimes I consider my "cabs" to be crude crayon drawings next to some of the masterpieces on here! I was plagued with undercutting and fractures on a lot of them, but none of it was really unexpected with the material that I worked with.
All are freeformed, dremeled, and polished in the vibe.
Here are the rest of the moss agates that Tommy sent me, I entered the one I thought was the best in the cabbing challenge contest. Thanks for looking!

Nice cabs Mike. You're inspiring me to try the vibe for polishing some of my cabs. The first and last ones are my favorites.

Here's the second set. Ocean Jasper, Thunderegg, 2 Plasma Agates, Crazy Lace. I got a bit of undercutting on the Thunderegg and one of the Plasmas. The OJ was the only cab that I could get out of a slab after the fractures. It's a little misshapen but I think it will look nice once I get it wrapped.

I think these turned out great Mike! I've been curious to see the finished products on these. I love what's going on in that thunder egg...and of course that crazy lace is CRAZY BEAUTIFUL!

Here's the next group. These are the cabs I got from the slabs pictured in this thread- forum.rocktumblinghobby.com/post/1130145/thread. The slabs were super brittle and I knew the cabs would end up with fractures and a bit of undercutting after I cut and shaped them but I wanted to see how they turned out anyway. They did take a good polish. I might do something with number five, but the rest will probably never get wrapped and end up in my group of Teepee Agate tumbles, they're still pretty to look at.

And here are some chubby Fairburn cabs from this original post- forum.rocktumblinghobby.com/post/1127653/thread. The first one ended up with a pit, but the other two are perfectly smooth- what looks like lines of grit or polish is actually the color of the lines in the stones...

Some more Teepees. Pretty sure the first one is from the slabs above. The others are from the stone I cut up in this thread- forum.rocktumblinghobby.com/post/1125798/thread. The last two pics are the Teepee that I decided to make a reversible pendant out of. I was thinking of trying to find a spinning bail, but decided that by just gluing a bail on top the wearer could reverse the pendant any time they wanted. I'll get a picture of what I come up with when it's done.

Mike, you've got some great looking cabs in that bunch! The "chubby" Fairburn comment made me smile. I like the teardrop shaped teepee and that second to last pic of the off-kilter teardrop...I love that shape!

Almost done, I have a tendency to post too many pics...I should think quality not quantity. 'Course then I may not have any to post! The off-kilter teardrop is Imperial Jasper.

Again...no such thing as TOO MANY pics! The more the merrier! I really do enjoy seeing all the things you're working on.

Beautiful, yummy fortification goodness! I love seeing all your pictures. Thanks Robin! I'm kind of partial to fortification myself in case you couldn't tell. π I had hoped the teepees would turn out better but that's the way the slabs crumble...

Nice ones all around. When are you posting the crude ones?
Iβm also partial to fortifications, but most of the material I have, the patterns are too big for cabs. Makes me understand bolo tie- and belt buckle-sized cabs a little more. I guess I need to look at getting teepee and dryhead slabs. π¬$
