Had a little dremel time last night, here's a couple in the works. They still need polished and a bit more shaping.
This first one I received in the Traveling Rock Box a couple of years ago. It was in the tumbling box but I decided to cut and cab it.
I think I can get two decent cabs out of it- and as always I can't remember what it is...
The rough and the first cab out of it
And this one is from opalpyrexia , a nice piece of Tahoma Jasper. There's a pit smack dab in the middle but I may just live with it- unless someone has any suggestions? Not sure if I should just go deeper or if it will open up more.
Thanks for looking!

Looking good Mike! I've got a Crazy Lace preform I cut yesterday that has a spot right in the middle like yours. I don't know if it's going to open up more or go away. I'm guessing it'll just get deeper. So, I'm curious as to what someone has to say about yours...

I like the stone and the shape of the cab, and I don't really want to chop it up smaller just to get rid of that pit.

Hard to say in advance. Sometimes it’s an annoying little blemish, and sometimes you get something like this: Druzy ocean jasper freeform drop by sdttds, on Flickr Sometimes it’s somewhere in-between. Yours seems to have potential. Both of those cabs look nice, miket

That's a gorgeous cab right there!

Looking good. I would suggest using a filler for the pit like Starbond or something similiar. A lot of lapidaries use those to fill in small pits in cabs and they look just fine. I don't like pits unless they have some crystals in them but yours seems to just be a pit. Looking forward to what you come up with in the end.

Beautiful cabs. (Even with the pit.) The first one is uber sweet.
I just wanna add- I love your sense of humor. You always give me a giggle.

Lovely. Both. Pits are the pits, but not always. Thanks for the show. Eye candy.

Also, thanks- people need to smile and giggle more these days!

It screams Botswana agate to me, but I could be wrong. It's really nice.

You got such a beautiful cab out of that tiny little rock. I don't mean that in a bad way . I just didn't know you could cut cabs from small nodules. I'm such a newb The rock looks like a Malawi agate to me. They tend to be more colorful than Botswana.
