I love OneNote. It used to come as part of the Microsoft Office suite of applications. Even the "Home and Student" version of MS Office going back to 2011 had it. It is excellent.
It comes with all new versions of Windows 10 now. And it not sold with the Office product any longer. So it is free.
The only catch is that you need to download the software from Microsoft Store. And you will need to create an MS account for that. And you will also be storing your information in the Microsoft Cloud (OneDrive if I remember correctly).
Just a suggestions. It works great for pictures and text.

It works great for pictures and text. Thanks for mentioning OneNote, NevadaBill! That is the perfect tool for what I want to do. I had started a rough draft of a log in Excel because I wanted to be able to sort the various columns, but couldn't think of how to incorporate the photos, too. OneNote is ideal for that and provides even better organization.
