Beautiful cabs! I love the little Turritella the most. Killer little cab!
Try finding a wooden handled pin vise that you can use the metal dop sticks with. That will alleviate cold metal against your skin pain, and it's more comfortable to hold.
Please be careful staying out that long in that cold. Frostbit fingers are no fun (I know - I have them) and arthritis isn't either (again - I know)! Also, freezing yourself to hypothermia is not a good thing either!!!!

Thanks so much Robin! I too really like how that oblong Turritella turned out. I hope most of the rest of this material I have to work comes out like this one did...because I have a lot! LOL Last night was the second night I did that to myself. I didn't have enough clothes on last night. I usually have a short-sleeve t-shirt, a long-sleeve t-shirt (or thermal top), a grey hoodie, and an insulated flannel jacket on while working out there, but I didn't have the long sleeve t-shirt on...and no, I don't really look like Ralphie's brother out there! LOL - My feet got the coldest. I need to get a rubber mat to put on the floor so I'm not standing directly on the ice-cold concrete floor. I just need to take the time to go to the store! LOL Good advice on the pin vise...I'll add that to my list for Menard's!

Trying a different background to see what it looks like at the urging of lpl...in a good way.

Yes, yes, yes! That really ‘warms’ up the stone and showcases its colors very well. I like!
