The neat thing is, some of these are already cabbed by Mother Nature...LOL who needs a saw and such when ya got the Pacific Ocean?

looks like you got a lot of stuff! Hard to tell from the pictures what they are. A few close-ups in daylight might help

Daylight /muted sunlight will definitely give you better pics. Sorry don't have one for sale but they have pretty good ones at walnut for under $100.00. Watch ebay, you might find one there.

Nice- the rocks with the white band going across them- If you tumble them Beware- the white bands are quartz (very hard) the brown is much softer and will dissappear fast- so keep qn eye on em!

Stefan I had an opposite effect. My bands got dug out by the grit (guess the "quartz sand" wasn't compact enough)

Looks like you got some nice rocks there My sister and I will be heading out to Westport (on the other side of the bay from Ocean Shores) next week. Hope we find some good stuff while we are out there. I'll have to comandeer the camera when we get back to post some pictures... and show off the rocks that are in the polishing stage now from our last trip out there! By the way, I was surprised to see the rough grey rocks actually do smooth out quite a bit. We'll see if they actually polish or not. The white and yellow quartz mostly is polishing beautifully! Did you not find any of the red jasper while you were there? We usually get quite a bit of that and the snow quartz and agate at Westport beaches. The black basalt seems to be polishing nicely too... I hope to get enough for a full load of that this time out. We call them worry stones cause straight off the beach they have such a satin smooth finish, wonderful to touch. Good luck with these!

Greenman, no we didn't pick up any red jasper. Course we probably didn't know what we were looking at. This was our second stop, the first beach didn't have any shells, rocks or even trash near the water. It was 75 degrees and sunny when we left Lakewood, got there and it was 60, foggy and rainy. So by the time we got to the second place we were about ready to call it a day. Post a pic of some of that jasper if you will so I know for next time.
Stefan, if i'm lucky someone will put a digital camera in the surprise box when they send it my way LOL ( mmm hmmm and I got some ocean front property for sale in AZ!)

Yea that would be cool! I have an older HP that takes good pictures- when it feels like it- I snap at least 3 or 4 each time just to get one to be recognizable- I keep thinking I should just get a new one- but I'de rater spend the money on rocks!

Hey Xenas, some of those will for sure polish up nice! I don't have beach rocks, but the glaciers did the same kind of things here. One tip, the rocks that are so well rounded are usually a tad softer (not soft, just softer than the Quartz). If you tumble those rounded rocks together you will have some pretty decent results.
