They were blown away when they saw the photos, Robin! I put the pictures on our big TV screen and they couldn’t believe they were the rocks they tumbled. They kept grabbing the rocks to compare with the pictures. My daughter even had me take more pictures of her favorite rock for her, which included that last picture I posted that has the peach-ish looking layers. I’m going to teach her how to use that camera next weekend so she can take her own photos. We are also busy thinking about all of the cool things we can do with the rocks. My daughter was asking about making jewelry with them, so I showed her a lot of different pictures of wire-wrapping and silver smithing that have been posted here. Drummond Island Rocks had a great post recently with four different settings/wraps for cabs that she really liked. I also showed her@saxplayer’s lamp which she also loved. The next step will be to take them to places where they can collect some of these amazing rocks in person. We’ve been wanting to take a big trip out west for some time now, and I would love to show them some of the places I visited. Seeing petrified wood in nature as a kid was one of the things that got me interested in the hobby. That's awesome! Reading this post had me smiling.

Super nice and like that kids get into tumbling rocks with Mom and (or) Dad...Two thumbs up Thanks Fossilman! When I first proposed the idea of a rock tumbler to my wife over a year ago, we realized we had both wanted to get a rock tumbler as kids but never got one, so it was fun to get one for the kids. I got hooked on RTH over a year ago when I started reading up on tumblers, so it has been a long but entertaining road to seeing these first results.
